On to Grand Finals + 1 confinement (I think…)

Got into the Grand Finals for the Impresario 2013 competition. Everything went well. The only disappointing thing is that not both songs got in. Only the Chinese entry. Sadly, it is 5 entries, 5 teams. Maybe it is to be fair to the Grand Finals participants too. Grand Finals will be on March 17th…hopefully I’ll be able to perform!

Anyway, about that confinement thing, it’s not confirmed yet. Just last Friday, my team went out for Bronco driving, and came back with 2 missing Drain Plugs. Oh well, it’s either Confinement, or SOL. Whatever it is, I’m kinda prepared for it. It’ll be a miracle if they didn’t give us confinement…HAHA!!

Another good news is, I got an invitation for an interview in NUS Yong Siew Toh Music Conservatory. Interview will be on 20th March…WEEKDAY!!! I AM IN CAMP!!! Hopefully I can get an off from my commanders, or if possible, change the date of interview to a weekend.

• Grade 6 ABRSM Theory Exam
• Impresario Photoshoot
• Impresario Rehearsal
• Impresario Grand Finals
• NUS Interview

Anyway, It’ll be a long week in Sungei Gedong Camp. Gonna be doing Exercise Musang. Heard it’s quite tiring. Better not rain on that day!

Finished another arrangement!

As stated in the title, yes I finished another arrangement!

Had a really really fun time arranging this composition, Eastern Child, by Si’er.

Did two 1 minute versions of the Semi-Finals competition entries!

A lot of mixed feelings about this competition…one of the semi-finalist is Nelson, Jaze and Jerry’s friend. Another semi-finalist is a senior of the CCA I used to attend. Another semi-finalist is from the NUS Original Music Society, a CCA which I joined for the fun of it…

If I didn’t get into the Finals, it’ll be quite embarrassing!

Managed to find instrumentalists to perform with me for this coming Semi-Finals!

Inspire!

Finished writing the music for Shaik’s school assignment last week. She has to replace all the audios in the video in the P&G – Thank You MaMa commercial, including the music.

It was quite fun writing it! Had to know the right time signature, duration, blah blah… Lots of considerations and restrictions!

Nevertheless, it was still fun!

New competition, Semi-Finals!

Impresario 2013

Good news! Entered a new competition called Impresario. Sent in two entries, and both entries got into the Semi-Finals!

Sent in Love Just Don’t Come Easy To Me &  一个人的快乐. Really happy that both songs got in, this time round, I think I stand a better chance!

But all good things comes with something bad…TIME!! I don’t have much time for the competition (which explains why this post is uploaded at 2:50am in the morning, I’m still working on the improvements based on the judges, for both music).

Anyway, I finished the chinese revised demo already, all that’s left is the lyrics for the pre-chorus by Tiffany and recording of the vocals on the 6th or 7th of Feb.

Really hope I can finish everything before all the deadlines…
